LinkedIn Fact Checker ("the Extension") is a browser extension that helps users fact-check LinkedIn posts. This privacy policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
Data We Collect
When you use the Extension to fact-check a post, we collect:
- The text content of the LinkedIn post you're fact-checking
- The author name displayed on the post
- The URL of the post
- Any images attached to the post (if applicable)
- Your IP address (for rate limiting purposes)
How We Use Your Data
The data collected is used exclusively to:
- Analyze the factual claims made in the post
- Generate fact-check results with sources
- Prevent abuse through rate limiting
- Avoid duplicate processing of the same post
Data Storage
Fact-check results are stored on our servers to enable sharing and to avoid redundant processing. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-Party Services
We use Anthropic's Claude AI to analyze posts and verify claims. Post content is sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Please refer to Anthropic's Privacy Policy for information on how they handle data.
Data Retention
Fact-check results are retained indefinitely to allow sharing via URL. If you would like your data deleted, please contact us.
Your Rights
You may request deletion of any fact-check data associated with posts you've submitted by contacting us at the email below.
